Democratic County and Senate District Conventions on April 21 As a result of the redistricting litigation, the Texas Democratic Party has revised our convention process. The process will now begin with Senate District and County Conventions on Saturday, April 21, 2012. There will not be Precinct Conventions. The convention process is how the Party conducts important business such as revising our Rules, developing our platform, electing our officers and SDEC representatives, and electing delegates and alternates to the represent Texas at the Democratic National Convention to nominate our candidate for President. Answers to Frequently Asked Questions about the County and Senate District Conventions can be found on our website. If you have specific questions about your County or Senate District Convention, please contact your County Chair. The most frequently asked question is regarding eligibility to participate in each level of convention. To clarify:

If you are unsure which of the new Senate Districts you live in, you can find by using the Texas Legislative Council’s Redistricting website. We encourage you to take this opportunity to make your voice heard and meet other Democrats from your area. If you would like to learn more about how to become a delegate or alternate to the State or National Convention, please visit our 2012 State Convention page. The State Convention also provides an excellent opportunity to advertise your business or organization. Convention program ads and exhibit booths are available at low rates.
